About the Role
Most of our portfolio companies need to convert their first ten enterprise design partners into paying contracts before they can credibly raise a Series A. You will own the funnel that gets them there. You will work in parallel with three to five portfolio companies at a time, running outbound campaigns into target accounts, qualifying interest, brokering introductions to decision-makers in our network, and supporting founders through their first commercial conversations. This is a relationship-building role, but it is also a measurement-driven one: your performance is judged against pilot conversion rates, time-to-first-revenue, and the size of the network you build for the studio.
What You'll Actually Do
You will build and execute target account lists for each assigned portfolio company, using Apollo, Clay, and ZoomInfo for sourcing and Attio or HubSpot for relationship management. You will run a weekly cadence of 100–200 personalized outbound touches per portfolio company across email, LinkedIn, and warm introductions, with measured response and meeting-set rates. You will prepare founders for first calls with prospective design partners, including pre-briefs on the buyer, suggested discovery questions, and post-call follow-up templates. You will maintain Blocklead's master enterprise relationship CRM, currently at 1,200+ named contacts, and grow it by at least 600 net-new qualified contacts per year. You will also own our quarterly Portfolio Showcase, where we present three portfolio companies to a curated group of 40–60 enterprise buyers.
What Success Looks Like
In 90 days: you have onboarded with three portfolio companies, built target account lists for each, and personally sourced at least five qualified design partner conversations. By month six: at least three of your assigned companies have signed paid pilots sourced through your work, and the master CRM has grown by 300+ qualified contacts. By month twelve: you have a documented track record of pilot conversions, a personal network of 200+ enterprise AI buyers across our target verticals, and a clear path toward a Senior BD or Partnerships role.
What We're Looking For
Two to four years in enterprise SDR/BDR, partnerships, business development, or corporate development roles at a B2B SaaS or AI company. You have personally booked 200+ qualified meetings with VP+ enterprise buyers in your career, and you have data to back it up. You write outbound messages that get above-30% reply rates from senior buyers (and you can show samples). You are organized enough to run multiple parallel outbound motions without dropping threads.
Nice to Have
Existing relationships with corporate innovation, AI center-of-excellence, or enterprise procurement teams at Fortune 1000 companies. Prior experience selling early-stage products without a deck or proven case studies.
